Review Process

All submissions to the Journal of Information Systems Development (ISD) undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Based on the reviewers' reports, the Section Editor makes a recommendation, and the final publication decision is taken by the Editor-in-Chief.

In the event of conflicting reviews, an additional reviewer may be appointed, or the manuscript may be reassessed by the editorial team.

The same peer review standards and evaluation criteria apply to all journal sections, regardless of submission type.

The review process is designed to be constructive, helping authors improve both their technical solutions and scholarly communication skills.

Reviewers evaluate submissions with respect to:

  • originality and relevance,
  • technical and methodological quality,
  • clarity of presentation,
  • validity of results,
  • contribution to applied computer science.

For datasets, particular attention is paid to documentation quality, reusability, and ethical compliance.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

ISD adheres to the principles of publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors are expected to ensure originality of their work, proper citation of sources, and accurate representation of results. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, multiple submissions, and unethical research practices are not tolerated.

Reviewers and editors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest and to handle manuscripts in a confidential, objective, and impartial manner.

Publication Objectives

The ISD aims to:

  • Encourage students to publish structured and well-documented project outcomes
  • Bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice
  • Promote reproducibility, transparency, and ethical research conduct
  • Support open access dissemination of student-driven innovation
